Chairman Brunwin called the meeting of the Board of Finance to order at 7:07 pm. The meeting was held in the Conference Room of the Bethany Town Hall.



CORRESPONDENCE

Chairman Brunwin received a letter from Town Clerk Nancy McCarthy to adjust the salary of Assistant Town Clerk Robin Glowa as the salary as listed was incorrect.



BUDGET FISCAL YEAR 2013-14

Chairman Brunwin opened discussion on changes to be made as suggested at the Public Hearing of April 22, 2013 for the budget for fiscal year 2013-14. The following suggested changes were to increase Building Permits to $70,000, Interest and Lien Fees to $80,000 and Interest Income to $30,000 on the Revenue side of the budget. Sally Huyser moved that we vote on changes to the budget as called. Chip Spear seconded the motion. The vote taken on the changes to the Revenues was unanimous.



Chairman Brunwin attended the Amity Finance Committee meeting. The Amity budget has been revised downward to $8,670,180.



The salary for the Assistant Town Clerk was adjusted to$19,908 per the request of the Town Clerk. Motion by Sally Huyser and seconded by Chip Spear. Unanimously approved.



Chairman Brunwin opened discussion on modification to the budget for Major Road Repair. Robert Brinton Jr. felt that since this is an annual expense the line item should be increased accordingly. Following discussion it was moved to taken $300,000 from the General Fund and increase the Major Road Resurfacing line item to $500,000. The line item for Garage Expense was reduced to $51,141.



A motion was moved by Sally Huyser to approve the total budget as adjusted from the modifications to $21,882,854. Chip Spear seconded the motion. The vote was called. There were five votes in favor of the recommended budget. Robert Brinton Jr. because he disagrees with the school budget and the printing of the Bulletin voted no.



Sally Huyser moved to transfer $300,000 from the General Fund to balance the budget. Robert Brinton Jr. seconded the motion. The vote taken was unanimous.



ADJOURNMENT

Adjournment was called at 8:05 pm after a motion was moved by John Grabowski and seconded by Aileen Magda. The vote taken was unanimous.
