Attendance: First
Selectwoman Derrylyn Gorski, Selectman Donald Shea
First Selectwoman Gorski called the special meeting of
the Board of Selectmen to order at 7:15 pm.
The meeting was held in the Conference Room of the Bethany Town
Hall.
APPROVAL OF
MINUTES
First Selectwoman Gorski called for a motion of approval
for the minutes of the meeting of August 26, 2013. The motion of approval was moved by Selectman
Shea and seconded by First Selectwoman Gorski.
There were no changes to the minutes.
The vote to approve as written was unanimous.
First Selectwoman Gorski called for a motion of approval
for the minutes of the meeting of October 15, 2013. The motion of approval was moved by Selectman
Shea and seconded by First Selectwoman Gorski.
Selectman Gorski moved to modify the minutes regarding ceiling and
lighting bids. The corrected minutes
were then accepted on a unanimous vote.
ADD TO AGENDA
OF SPECIAL TOWN MEETING OF NOVEMBER 5,
2013 TO AUTHORIZE ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR
CAPITAL ITEMS LISTED AND APPROVED AT THE
MAY 20, 2013 ANNUAL TOWN MEETING AS ITEM #10 TOWN HALL GYM CEILING
AND ITEM #11 TOWN HALL GYM SAFETY LIGHTING
The following resolutions were passed at the Annual Town
Meeting of May 20, 2013.
To authorize the expenditure from the Reserve Fund for
Capital and Nonrecurring Expenditures of an amount up to the sum of $20,000 for
the replacement of the gym ceiling in
the Bethany Town Hall by the Board of Selectmen.
To authorize the expenditure from the Reserve Fund for
Capital and Nonrecurring Expenditures of an amount up to the sum of $10,000 for
the replacement of safety light fixtures in the gym of the Bethany Town Hall by
the Board of Selectmen.
When recent bids were received for these Capital items
they exceeded the appropriation. The
Board of Finance recently approved an additional $20,000 from the Capital
Reserve Fund to complete the projects.
Selectman Shea moved to add additional appropriations to the agenda of
the November 5, 2013 special Town Meeting for these projects. First Selectwoman Gorski seconded the
motion. The vote taken was
unanimous.
ADJOURNMENT
Selectman Shea moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:25
pm. The motion was seconded by First
Selectwoman Gorski.
