Attendance: First
Selectwoman Derrylyn Gorski, Selectman Donald Shea. Selectman Clark Hurlburt was absent from this
meeting.
First Selectwoman Gorski called the special meeting of the
Board of Selectmen to order at 6:40 p.m.
The meeting was held in the Selectmen’s Conference Room of the Bethany
Town Hall.
APPROVAL OF
MINUTES
First Selectwoman Gorski called for approval of the minutes
of the previous meeting of September 25, 2017.
The motion to approve as written was moved by Selectman Shea and seconded
by First Selectwoman Gorski. The vote
taken was unanimous.
FIRST CHURCH OF
CHRIST CEMETERY
The First Church of Christ Congregational would like to deed
their cemetery over to the Town of Bethany to manage. The maps to the cemetery have been dropped
off for the Town Cemetery Committee and Attorney McSherry to look over. Acceptance would have to be by a vote at a
Town Meeting. They are willing to turn
over the endowment fund of approximately $23,000 to the Town. That funding could possibly be used to
supplement set up costs.
CONNECTICUT STATE
WATER PLAN
First Selectwoman Gorski distributed a draft of the
Connecticut State Water Plan for the Selectmen to review and make comments on
before the plan is implemented by the State.
STATE OF CONNECTICUT
BUDGET
First Selectwoman Gorski had no updates to report to the
Selectmen regarding the State Budget.
ADJOURNMENT
Adjournment was called at 6:55 p.m. after a motion was moved
by Selectman Shea and seconded by First Selectwoman Gorski. The vote for approval was unanimous.
