First Selectwoman Gorski called the meeting to order at 7:35 pm.  The meeting was held in the Bethany Town Hall Selectmen’s Conference Room.  First Selectwoman asked all present to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

First Selectwoman Gorski called for a motion of approval for the minutes of the meeting of February 24, 2014.  The motion of approval was moved by Selectman Donald Shea and seconded by Selectwoman Magda.  The vote was called.  The vote taken was unanimous.

ICE SKATING VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK

The Selectmen reviewed the information received from H. D. Segur  Insurance regarding ice skating at Veterans Memorial Park.  The insurance company recommended signs clearly marked skating at your own risk.  Attorney McSherry felt  to allow skating greatly increased the Town of Bethany’s liability.  The Selectmen discussed management for this activity if they voted to allow skating next year.  The skating area would have to be clearly marked.  Testing of the ice would have to be done each day and a sign posted stating condition of the ice.  The skating would only be allowed during day light.

TAX REFUNDS

Selectman Donald Shea moved to refund to Cory Bostick the sum of $232.71 for overpayment of taxes.  The motion was seconded by Selectwoman Magda.  The vote taken was unanimous.

OTHER

Selectman Shea and Selectwoman Magda asked about obtaining working Town Hall email addresses.  First Selectwoman Gorski is checking into this matter with IP Direct.

ADJOURNMENT

Adjournment was called at 7:50 pm after a motion was moved by Selectman Shea and seconded by Selectwoman Magda.  The vote taken was unanimous.
