Bethany Conservation Commission

July 14, 2011

The meeting was called to order at 8:20 by Bruce Loomis. Also in attendance were Brian Eitzer and Cathy Rives.

Brian moved and Bruce seconded a motion to accept the April 14, 2011 minutes. The motion passed.

The May 11, 2011 minutes were presented but not approved as there were insufficient commission members present whom were at that meeting.

Nominations for chair were opened. Brian moved that Bruce continue as chairman, Cathy seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

Two pieces of correspondence were mentioned. The first was a dues notice from CACIWC. The second a thank you note from Neha Pashankar, winner of the 2011 student award.

There was a discussion on the 100 Miller Road development whose plan for open space was recently accepted by planning and zoning. After discussion Cathy made the following motion “The conservation commission requests clarification as to what section of subdivision regulations provides the wording to approve the open space plan as proposed by the applicant and furthermore would like to have the decision reviewed by the town attorney”. Brian seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

There was no new business. Cathy moved to adjourn at 9:00 and Bruce seconded.
